SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTING—AUSTRALIA
Q: How did your company sell the idea of becoming a B Corp, internally?
A: For Net Balance, becoming a B Corporation was simply an extension of our vision and values. We believe that, for business to succeed into the future, it must be led by purpose as much as profit. B Corporation certification reflects our belief that the natural selection process will redefine business success in the new economy—what we call “tomorrow’s agenda.”
As one of the founding B Corporations in Australia, this is a great opportunity for us to share with our clients the importance of the certification and to help drive the movement in Australia and Asia–Pacific
Q: What business benefits do you directly attribute to your B Corp certification?
A: The B Corp certification allows companies to show they have been reviewed by a third party, building trust as well as brand credibility for customers, shareholders, and employees. The B Corp community also encourages B Corporations to do business directly with other B Corporations, by offering particular exclusive benefits.
But at the heart of it, B Corp gives us a name—a catchcry—to explain what Net Balance is all about. For years we have been trying to explain that we’re here for a purpose: to create social change and to get business and government ready for the challenges of tomorrow. The certification says that in one letter!
